A leading International Marine Insurance company providing P&I, FD&D and War Risks cover to their international membership, are working with GRS to recruit a Chief Financial Officer, for their Limassol operation. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years post qualified experience operating at CFO or Financial Controller level with experience in the insurance or maritime sector being highly favourable. As the CFO you will be responsible for leading and advising on all finance and regulatory matters of the Cyprus office. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for submitting the Group’s regulatory filings in Cyprus, maintaining accounting records, liaising with external auditors and preparing the financial statements with support of the London office.
  • Responsible for managing the company’s bank account in co-ordination with the global treasury team.
  • Reporting to the Group’s Finance Controller and Chief Executive, the Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for leading and advising on all finance and regulatory matters of the Cyprus office.
  • The role will require an individual is above to be both strategic and operational.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT, income tax and other tax returns while liaising with local tax authorities.
  • Any other ad hoc duties requested by local or line management that are relevant to the role.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • A University degree in Accounting, Finance, or any other related field.
  • ACA or ACCA Qualified Accountant, with at least 3 years post qualification experience in a similar role.
  • Experience of team management.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office packages).
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Greek.
  • Knowledge of Solvency II regulatory requirements will be considered as an advantage.
  • Experience or knowledge of the insurance or marine industry.
  • Excellent communication, numeric and organisational skills.
  • Time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • A proactive work approach, i.e. problem solving, identifying alternative effective and efficient solutions to task completion.
  • A high level of commitment and self-motivation.
  • Attention to detail, with a good focus on cost control, negotiation and strong industry awareness.
  • Professionalism, integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to engage effectively with staff at all levels of the organisation and exercise sound judgement.
