A market leading and continually expanding IT Group of Companies with dynamic local and regional presence is now seeking an equally dynamic and qualified ACA/ACCA Chief Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ working experience in a demanding and high-paced environment, ideally within an IT or Telecom industry, with a high level of commercial acumen and exceptional personal skills in managing people and overseeing performance and productivity of the department. This role reports to the Financial Controller and offers the successful candidate a high level of responsibility and potential towards career progression.

  • Ensure the smooth operation and supervise the accounting department, purchase department and stores
  • Review supplier payments before payment and ensure that all suppliers are paid in accordance with the payment terms agreed
  • Review and approve employee expenditure claims
  • Ensure that all financial information is recorded in a complete, accurate and timely manner
  • Handle VAT and Tax issues
  • Handle the credit control function and provide support in customer collection, where needed
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and cash flows
  • Assist in the monthly management reporting of results to the Group
  • Assist in ad-hoc request from Head Office and co-operate with the Internal Audit team
  • Liaise with ERP support team and ensure functionality of the system
  • Liaise with external associates such as auditors, banks, clients etc.
  • Set up or improve existing procedures and controls
  • Work closely and provide relevant support to other departmental managers
  • University degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Fluent in Greek and English (written and verbal)
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a position with similar responsibilities
  • Member of a Professional Accounting body (ACA/ ACCA/CPA)
  • Working experience within the IT industry will be considered an advantage
  • Working experience with Navision will be considered an advantage
  • Strong business and commercial awareness
  • Dynamic, hands on and results driven
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Very good analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office and especially Excel
