A well-established financial institution is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join their team in Malta. You will report to the Head of IT and be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and supporting the Group’s IT systems and users, liaising with external suppliers and technical service providers and providing first and second level support where necessary. The ideal candidate will have a minimum 3 years’ experience working within an IT Engineering role and a degree in IT Technology or similar. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and manage all installed systems and infrastructure
- Administration of the bank’s applications and related databases
- Drive to automate
- Assist with security, business continuity and disaster recovery elements of the bank’s operational systems
- Assist in maintaining the relevant documentation as required for internal and compliance requirements
- Assistance with Office IT when the need arises
- Support the development teams;
- Assist with the deployment of new production systems in cooperation with external parties
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Degree in IT Technical Systems or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working within an IT Engineering Role
- Mid-level knowledge of Microsoft technologies and Virtualization
- Knowledge of Cloud platforms and architectures
- Adequate knowledge on Enterprise IT equipment
- Knowledge in HA clustering
- Experience in MS SQL Server database administration
- It is advantageous to have experience within the Banking sector and knowledge of Jira & Linux
