January 2020 marks the 15 year anniversary of GRS Recruitment in Cyprus, and we couldn’t be more excited as we celebrate 15 years of excellence.
The company was founded in 2005 by Steve Slocombe, who, after years of working in the U.K’s leading recruitment firms, moved to Cyprus to establish a recruitment agency that attracted highly motivated and creative individuals who wished to become the best and maintaining the professional approach, fast pace and recruitment standards of the UK into the Cyprus and later Malta market.
Since then, our commitment to high-quality service and confidentiality has helped The GRS Group to become recognized as the largest recruiter in Cyprus. Founder & Director of the Business Steve Slocombe remains in the business having primary involvement in the strategic direction of the company while still having a hands-on approach in the day to day recruitment activity and team management. In 2011 Hayley Buckle joined the team as an Executive Recruitment, and since then, her dedication has earned her the reputation of the ‘go-to person’ in the Cypriot FX and Fintech industries and December 2018 saw her promotion to Director of Recruitment. The GRS Group has been able to remain on a successful path of growth and improvement due to their adaptability and strong hires of self-motivated individuals, with a solid team of professionals and developing leaders including Lorraine Piggott-Brown, Ross Pitman, Miranda Nicodemou and Nikoletta Constantinou.
After years of hard work, we were able to secure the leading recruiter position within multiple sectors in our two locations of Cyprus and Malta. We have placed thousands of candidates in an ever evolving range of industries as we see new emerging technology and services available such as Blockchain and Payment solutions however the core remains in corporate services, legal, accounting, financial services, Forex, FinTech, IT, Shipping, and Energy. The service portfolio of the group has grown to include not only permanent recruitment but also temporary and contract recruitment, project recruitment, outplacement, payroll, and salary benchmarking. In 2015 their sister company Fairfax Yeaman was born to complete the service offering with Outsourced payroll, provident fund and bookkeeping.
When asked about the company’s achievements over the last 15 years, founder Steve Slocombe had this to say “GRS started from the spare bedroom of my house 15 years ago with a couple of old desks and borrowed computers. It’s been an amazing journey to go from that small beginning to organically grow GRS to be the largest and most recognized recruitment brand in Cyprus”
Attributing a large portion of the company’s success to his team Slocombe further explained “The importance of Human Capital in any business cannot be underestimated and within the GRS Group we continue to engage and motivate our employees through empowerment, flexible working and career development. We have recently under gone a business transformation which has bought an increased passion to the business and the brand”

Since our creation, we have had many accomplishments, which we credit to creating and instilling a culture of positivity, collaboration, and entrepreneurship into our entire team. In addition to those qualities, our team’s can-do attitude has led us to become the recruitment partner of large infrastructure projects such as the Larnaca and Paphos Airport construction, desalination plants, wind farms, emergency electricity supply projects, H&M retail flagship store Nicosia and the European Bank for Reconstruction and development’s Annual Conference.
